Regional Transportation Plan

The Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) represents a comprehensive long-range blueprint for transportation investments within the Atlanta metropolitan planning area. The RTP is produced by the Atlanta Regional Commission.

The Atlanta Regional Commission adopted the most recent update to the RTP on February 26, 2020. Major updates are completed once every four years with periodic amendments performed as needed, usually one to two per year.

A total of thirty-five projects are located either partially or entirely within Henry County. Projects are divided by network year and color coded on the map accordingly. Network years are estimates lumped into ten-year groups for environmental modeling purposes. A project’s construction start date may be budgeted to occur anytime before the network year.

The spreadsheet below is provided to list the projects, sorted by ARC project ID:

The majority of improvements within Henry County contemplate planned and future road widening projects. Inclusion within this plan does not guarantee the project’s future construction; however, it must be included within this list to be eligible for federal transportation dollars.
