Tony Brown is a candidate for Henry County Sheriff. He will appear in the upcoming Democratic Primary on June 9, 2020.

Locust Grove News provided each Sheriff candidate with a questionnaire. The community page has shared each candidate’s responses with Moving Henry Forward for inclusion on our website.

Responses have been reprinted as they were received without any edits for grammar or spelling.

1.) What do you plan to accomplish in your first 30 days? In your first year?

You always do a complete assessment of the Department from Budget, to inventory etc. (1. then talk to all Deputies to see what’s been working and 2. what improvements can be done or 3. what new things: (programs, process, procedures) can be implemented furthermore 4. ask what can be done for them from positions to resources. With more info, I encourage to go to.

2.) What do you think is the most important skill of being an excellent Sheriff?

Great leadership which my website focuses on a Dynamic sound leader that is fair, trustworthy, honest, and will listen! (Teamwork makes a Dreamwork!)

3.) What is the biggest need of the Henry County Sheriff’s Department now and what would you do to fill that need?

The deputies want to have all law enforcement duties installed to include ticketing and I will allow it. More important information on

4.) What specific managerial/leadership experiences do you have that qualify you for this job?

Just a brief layout: Years in Law Enforcement: 20+ (Protection, Safety, Security) USAF Veteran (DAV) – Military: Intelligence Officer, trained Military Police first, then an experience Federal Special Investigator with Federal Credentials & Top Secret Clearance: beyond – Briefed the CIA & NSA Director while Director, worked daily with my beloved (co-workers) Federal Special Agents – (and all agencies) EMT volunteer at fire station, Medical Service Corp Officer, Commander etc. Educated with many degrees, Undergrad bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, thus a people person who understands! For details contact a response will be given as it’s vital to like, follow, tag, share, comment, email, text, and Shoutout!

5.) Why are you the best man for the job?

First, I’ve been working very hard fighting for justice and fairness in Henry County for a decade. As a democrat (first race), I was the only candidate on the ballot in 2016 along with coroner candidate Joe Mack Eckler; who had the courage to run against the republican party. With that said, I’m the best suited to win against my opponents: which my exit polls have my friends, republican candidate Willie Brown and Jack Redlinger in a two-person race. The “trend” is democrats should win by at least a small margin and is quite evident: Republican incumbent Coroner Cleveland, Donald W. switches sides from Republican to democrat incumbent (no surprise I’m supporting the true democrat nominee Joe Mack Eckler for Coroner). Additionally, just like when the Republicans appointed Michael Harris to henry county tax commissioner and now he qualifies as an incumbent democrat and runs unopposed. I’ve mention fairness which is very important to me, not like politics as usual where the state and henry county announces (publicly in the newspaper) that there was going to be a special election for henry county tax commissioner. The facts will check that Henry County elections had to recant it, because the Governor (Kemp) wants to keep his person in office as the incumbent, instead of letting the citizens of Henry county make a choice (“voice”) by exercising their vote. (I would have thought that coming from the Secretary of the State, that voting is important and everyone deserves an equal shot of justice, not just given the position) Thus, to caring citizens, we must secure 50% to prevent a runoff. Finally, just a brief layout: Years in Law Enforcement: 20+ (Protection, Safety, Security) USAF Veteran (DAV) – Military: Intelligence Officer, trained Military Police first, then an experience Federal Special Investigator with Federal Credentials & Top Secret Clearance: beyond – Briefed the CIA & NSA Director while Director, worked daily with my beloved (co-workers) Federal Special Agents – (and all agencies) EMT volunteer at the fire station, Medical Service Corp Officer, Commander etc. Educated with many degrees, Undergrad bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, thus a people person who understands!
