Stockbridge is Henry County’s largest municipality located off I-75 and I-675. The city will celebrate their one-hundredth anniversary in 2020.
Stockbridge High School is located on Old Conyers Road and opened in 1964. Other schools in the cluster include Austin Road Elementary, Cotton Indian Elementary, Fairview Elementary, Smith-Barnes Elementary, Stockbridge Elementary, Austin Road Middle, and Stockbridge Middle.
The most notable transportation project in the area is a widening project along US 23 / SR 42 in north Stockbridge. The project will widen the highway to a four-lane section between SR 138 and I-675. Right of way acquisition started in 2018 and construction is budgeted in FY 2023.
