The Luella community is in central and southern Henry County, including the South Point commercial activity center and a significant portion of the county’s industrial sector along highway 155.

Luella High School opened in 2003 following a period of rapid residential growth in Henry County. Other schools in the Luella cluster include Bethlehem Elementary, Luella Elementary, and Luella Middle.

The most notable transportation project in the area is widening state route 155 between I-75 and Hampton-Locust Grove Road. The project is budgeted by Georgia DOT as part of their long-range improvements with construction budgeted in FY 2030.

SPLOST Projects

SPLOST IV projects in Luella include fire station #14 off Walker Drive, intersection improvements at Hampton-Locust Grove Road and Simpson Mill, and the new signal at state route 81 and Mill Road.

Planned SPLOST V projects in the area include funding towards a future intersection improvement at Bill Gardner Parkway and Lester Mill and generic transportation improvements in commission district II. Voters approved the SPLOST V program in November 2019.
