Eagle’s Landing is located in central Henry County and home to the county’s medical district.
Eagle’s Landing High School opened in 1990 and covers the smallest enrollment area by square miles. Other schools in the Eagle’s Landing cluster include Flippen Elementary, Oakland Elementary, and Eagle’s Landing Middle.
The most notable transportation project in the area is widening Rock Quarry Road between Eagle’s Landing Parkway and SR 138. Henry County applied for and received federal transportation dollars towards preliminary engineering in 2015, and again towards right of way acquisition in 2017. The county applied for funding once more in 2019 towards construction. The project was selected in early 2021 to receive $7 million in additional federal funding. The funds are budgeted in FY 2023.
Because of the high cost for construction and available funding, there’s a chance the project will be broken into two phases. If this occurs, then the first phase is expected to be from Eagle’s Landing Parkway to the vicinity of Banks Road. The county approved an agreement with Georgia DOT to begin right of way acquisition in December 2020.
