Each candidate for office must pay a qualifying fee. The qualifying fee equates to three percent of the elected official’s salary; except for members of the general assembly. The general assembly qualifying fee, for either state senate or state house, is $400.

All members of the Georgia General Assembly stand for election every two years. Beginning this year, Henry County has portions of three state senate districts and portions of seven state house districts. The districts include the following:

  • State Senate 10, 17 and 25
  • State House 74, 78, 91, 115, 116, 117 and 118

Not sure in which district you reside? Check out my district maps webpage.

In addition to members of the general assembly, candidates for statewide office, US Congress and Superior Court judgeships qualify through the state. Qualifying info for state candidates is available from the Secretary of State’s office.
