Commissioners on Tuesday night approved two contracts for roof replacement at the Henry County Jail and Henry County Jail Annex. The need for repairs has been discussed since at least August 2017.

The items were moved from the regular agenda to the consent agenda at the start of the meeting. The contracts were approved without discussion.

The first contract, for upper and lower retrofit roofing at the Henry County Jail, was awarded to Garland / DBS Inc. of Cleveland, OH for $406,048.00. The contract was competitively bid through an OMNIA Partners contract, a cooperative purchasing agency.

The second contract, for roof replacement at the Henry County Jail Annex, was also competitively bid through OMNIA Partners. The project was awarded to Garland / DBS Inc. for $509,820.00.

The roof repairs include a thirty (30) year warranty. Funding for the projects are available through the lease / purchase agreement and bond financing approved by the board earlier this month.
