Community meeting scheduled to discuss Kelleytown rezoning request

Henry County residents are invited to a community meeting next week to discuss an upcoming rezoning request at the southeast corner of State Route 155 and Kelleytown Road. The community meeting will be held on Monday, November 18, at 7 pm at Victory Tabernacle Church. The church is located at 111 Kelleytown Road.

The rezoning request and concurrent application to amend the future land use map consists of 22.3 +/- acres. The applicant, JWA Ventures II, LLC of Montgomery, AL, is requesting a rezoning from RA (residential agricultural) to MU (mixed use).

The request consists of a grocery store, auxiliary shops, and commercial outparcels. There is also the potential for a small twenty-five lot subdivision as part of a second phase to the development. If built, the subdivision would follow R-2 on sewer zoning standards with half-acre lots.

The zoning advisory board is scheduled to consider the requests next Thursday, November 21, at 6:30 pm. The requests will be presented to the board of commissioners for a final decision at a later date. Meetings are held at the Henry County Administration Building located on Henry Parkway in McDonough.
