A plan by YM Hospitality Group of Stockbridge, GA to construct a new Holiday Inn Express along Country Club Drive was recommended for approval in August by the Stockbridge Planning Commission. The rezoning request from C-2 to C-3 was presented to the Stockbridge city council on October 14.

The 1.268 acre property, located east of 160 Country Club Drive, is mostly vacant with parking lot roads today. The developer will build a hotel with approximately 80 rooms if approved by the city council.

The applicant intends to enter into shared parking agreements with adjacent office buildings to meet parking requirements. Large commercial vehicles or tractor trailers will be prohibited from using the parking lot.

YM Hospitality owns several other hotels in the area, including Holiday Inn’s on SR 138 in Stockbridge and SR 20 / 81 in McDonough. They also own the Hilton Garden Inn at South Point.
