Update: the McDonough city council approved the full rollback setting the city’s millage rate at 3.806 mills.

The city of McDonough has announced plans to approve a “full rollback” of the city’s property tax. A full rollback decreases the millage rate to the point in which a property owner will pay the same amount as the previous year except in the case of new development.

The rollback will result in a millage rate of 3.806 for the city of McDonough. The 2018 millage rate was 4.083.

A public hearing is scheduled for Monday, July 15, at 6 pm before the millage rate is expected to be adopted. City council meetings are held at city hall located on Keys Ferry Street.
